I want to be sure that there is no more malware lurking on my PC and that I am getting optimum performance from this PC. In an attempt to clear possible undetected malware over the last few days I have run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Lavasoft Ad-Aware, and SUPERAntiSpyware, detecting and removing several trojans in the process.

I have PC Tools Spyware Doctor with Antivirus version 6.4.1.447 installed, and use Windows Firewall. Last weekend it got a whole lot worse a friend who was staying found it quite impossible to access her university webmail. My PC has been slow to boot up and to open IE (I have IE8) for some time also IE8 keeps freezing.
